Happy Holidays!

I love the holidays. Christmas is my favorite time of year. Once I hear ‘Winter Wonderland’ playing, it’s hard not to be in a good mood. And even though I’ll be celebrating with a broken metatarsal (the bone right under your little toe) and a cumbersome cast, I’m still happy—go figure. No matter how grim things seem, the scent of pine, and putting up all our Christmas ‘stuff’ puts me in a grateful and wonderful mood. So here’s some pics of our decorations and lights.

Hope you had as much fun ‘Christmas-ing’ up your place as I did!

Merry Christmas To All!

Christmas is my favorite holiday! I love everything about it. I get to buy presents for the people I love. No one can nag me about spoiling everyone outrageously. And people are smiling and grinning and simply being nice.

I’ve neglected my blog and am late in getting contest wins to everyone, but I swear all will be merry and nice before the day is out. My three sons are home, my mom comes in on Saturday, and my middle son has his golden birthday on Monday (that’s like when you turn 13 and you were born on the thirteenth).

This year (*blush*—every year), I’m wallowing in family and joy and happiness. My wish for all of you, my friends, colleagues, and readers is the very same. I hope every single one of you is surrounded by all your loved ones.

Here’s my favorite Christmas Video – hope you enjoy!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Home Sweet Home!

When you’re an immigrant, home is a nebulous fellow. Having just spent the last five days in Trinidad, it felt like I’d gone home. But, now we’re back in Florida, and this, too, feels like home. So, do I have two or one? As I’ve grown older (the wiser part’s yet to kick in), it’s become clear to me – home is wherever your family is, and family has been redefined to include simply everyone I love. So, yes I went home, and yes, I came back home. It was a fabulous holiday. I loved seeing all the cousins arguing and playing games and ribbing each other mercilessly. It was amazing to have all my brothers and their wives and children and my mom and Jean in one place. Every meal was an absolute joy and I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard in ages. Here’s a few pics:

I hope your Christmas was incredible!

Christmas Trees

Recently the dh and I spent a few days at the Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head. The lobby was decorated with hundreds of Christmas Trees all made by a local primary school and all to be auctioned off for charity. The creativity and talent on display astounded me. I can think of no better way to celebrate the season than by putting the dozens of pictures and videos I couldn’t help but take every day.

Merry Christmas to One and All!

The Canuck Version of The 12 Days of Christmas – A Moose in a Maple Tree!

Okay, I couldn’t resist posting this—and the dh and my three sons are Canucks so no one can accuse me of anything here. It’s just too cute. Love the Mounties!

Still chuckling!
